Robert Kakwitch Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 3, 2025.
Robert D. Kakwitch, Sr., age 74, of Keshena passed away on Sunday November 2, 2025, in Appleton. Robert was born on July 7, 1951, in Keshena to the late Elmer and Edith (Oshkenaniew) Kakwitch. After attending and graduating from high school, he entered into the United States Marines. Once he exited, Robert worked as a cook for many years. On October 8, 1994, he was united in marriage to Frances M. Pamonicutt. She later passed in 2005. Robert was an AIM member and a member of the Menominee Warrior Society; he was very proud of his heritage. He loved being outdoors digging and harvesting shang. Robert loved riding in the woods with his brother Sam. In Robert's free time, he enjoyed relaxing at the casino and was dedicated to watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. Robert was a kind and quiet man but was able to light up a room with his unforgettable laugh. If you found yourself with him for an extended period of time, he would always take the chance to reminisce about stories with you. He always had a cup of coffee and made sure to have more brewing for later. Robert will be dearly missed.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Shawna Warrington; his grandchild; his siblings, Elmer Kakwitch and Tracy Kakwitch; his brother-in-law, Gerald "Deeser" Dick He is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, who always had a special place in his heart.

Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert Kakwitch, Jr.; siblings, LaVerne Kakwitch, Norman Kakwitch, Evanell (Joey) Sanapaw, Eric Kakwitch, Tonia Dick, Sandra (Adam) Webster and Ricki (Neil) Hawpetoss; and parents, Elmer and Edith.

A celebration of life will be held at the Neopit Community Center on Wednesday November 5, 2025, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
