Robert "Bob" Joseph Karpiel, 67, October 24, 2025, beloved husband of 45 years to Renee, loving father of Pamela (John), Kevin (Devin), David (Megan), and Robert (Ashley), dear Opa of Ronald, Jack, Joshua, Dylan, Emma, and Jason, brother of Rita (Mark), Lisa, Lorie (the late Nick), the late David, Donald (Barbara), Diana (Larry), and Trina (Patrick), Uncle and great Uncle to many.
Born in Chicago, Bob's journey through life was marked by an unwavering devotion to his family. He was a proud father/grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his children/grandchildren. Music was also a large part of Bob's life. Whether playing trombone, listening to music, or performing for a crowd, he found expression through sound. The St. Rita High School band, University of Illinois Chicago band, and the Southwest Symphony were happy to have him as a member.
A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry followed by a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy provided him with the tools to build a career as a pharmacist. A career path he worked in until retirement. During his downtime, Bob loved playing Pokemon with his sons, watching all kinds of movies (especially The Halloween Tree), and setting up his train sets during the holidays.
Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
General visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
