Robert Kehoe was one of my instructors when I joined the
CIA in 1967. He looked and talked like a university professor--wore tweed jackets. I didn't know that he had been a Jedburgh until the mid-1990s when he felt it was safe to tell his story. He was particularly concerned about what we call "collateral damage" that might have negatively affected his French colleagues and other
French who gave him lodging and food, etc., when he was an operative in France.

I met Robert at Frasier Meadows and soon became a member of his French conversation group. He was uniquely convivial, with a broad intellect, incredible memory, and wonderful sense of humor. I am sure that his exploits during WWII indirectly helped my family and me escape France during the war. RIP, dear friend.

The Kehoes hosted a neighborhood Christmas party for many years. I have the best memories of Mr. Kehoe playing piano and neighbors singing carols together. They had THE hill for sledding both day and night. Reading about Mr. Kehoe's heroic deeds helps me understand why their whole family made such a lasting impression on me. Hello to the kids from Mary Pat Kellagher in NC.

My family benefitted greatly from his efforts in World War II. He was one of the bravest people I've ever met. His efforts saved many lives and he is one of the French Resistance's most notable heroes.

Sincere condolences to Robert's family and friends. My friend and mentor COL Aaron Bank, WWII OSS officer and Father of the Green Berets, often mentioned Robert and the important role that he played with the OSS and Resistance. It is men like Robert who paved the way for US Special Forces. He continues to be an inspiration to all of us Green Berets who have come after him. Rest easy, Robert. And thanks. See you at the Final Formation.

A true hero for his actions in World War-ll. Few alive today will ever know what this man, and others like him, did to help defeat the Nazi's by fighting back and helping others in France disrupt anything they could to aid the war effort.
