Looking back now, I'd say Bob had a really positive attitude about life and loved his parents and sibs, and, of course his own family. He visited my father when my dad was living in Peoria. Just dropped in to say hi. That was Bob. Never a kinder man. Hope to see him again --- "upstairs."

The first time I met Bob was when he brought his black dog Inky over to 903 Clyman to do its thing on our grass. I pretended to be outraged and Bob thought it was funny. We bonded immediately and remained closest friends through High School. He managed to get me a D in shop by making my hammer for me. I was headed for an F. Whenever we met after that at reunions or Bob and Joan's winter visits to Florida, or whatever, we resumed our closeness and banter as though time had stood still. Unfortunatly, this time it won't.
Bob was a nice guy. That says it all. There was a quiet kindness to him. He visited my father when he was in a nursing home in Quincy -- just dropped by to say hello. His family came first and he loved the family visits and get-togethers.He always had stories about his brother Don who he greatly admired.
We experienced much together and never seemed to run out of war stories.
I miss him already and feel great grief over his passing. Susan and I want to express our condolences and great sorrow to his family.
