Robert "Bob" G. Keller

July 7, 1943-September 25, 2025

With profound love and gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" G. Keller, who entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born in 1943, Bob lived a life marked by kindness, grace, compassion, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and God. A devoted Catholic, Bob lived his life through Jesus Christ, allowing his faith to guide every step and to shape the way he treated others with unconditional respect, grace, kindness, and love.

He graduated from Roslindale High School in 1962 and continued his education at Northeastern University.

Bob went on to serve as the Director of Sales for Mount Auburn Cemetery, dedicating 43 years to supporting families with compassion and comfort during their most difficult times.

Following his retirement, Bob found great joy in driving a school bus for the Franklin community. This role brought him daily purpose, and he especially loved sharing wisdom and kindness with the children he served.

Above all, Bob was devoted to his family. He shared 41 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Donna. He was a loving and proud father of Thomas, Shannon, Kristopher (with his wife, Michelle), and of Timothy, who now welcomes him into eternal rest. His greatest blessing and crowning joy were his grandchildren, Cole, Owen, Mila, and Zoey, who filled his later years with joy, comfort, and blessings.

Bob cherished the outdoors and loved sharing those moments with his family. Whether, camping, hiking, skiing, kayaking, or biking, he found beauty and peace with sharing those moments with who he loved most.

His legacy of faith, compassion, and love rooted in Christ will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Bob's life at his wake on Thursday evening Oct. 2nd, from 4-7 p.m. at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. in Franklin, and at a Funeral Mass on Friday morning Oct. 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church in Millis.

To Donna and all of Bob's family my heartfelt condolences on his death. He was a fixture at Mount Auburn Cemetery when I arrived in 1988 as the new young president, knowing little about cemeteries. Bob was a faithful and skilled colleague and friend, quietly helping me understand the importance of what we did, always cheerful, hard working and ready to help. He was a diplomat, a vital part of the team that made Mount Auburn so special to all of us who worked there and to all our clients. I cherish his memory.

Bob and I were lunchtime walking buddies in the four years that we worked to together at Mount Auburn Cemetery. I learned so much from him and will warmly remember the laughs we shared. He is missed but i think of him often when I walk the landscape. I wrote this tribute for his retirement: https://joom.ag/vwHL/p20

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my colleague and friend, Bob Keller. Bob and I worked together at Mount Auburn Cemetery, where he generously shared his passion and knowledge. He served families with compassion while also stewarding Mount Auburn“s historic landscape with great care. My thoughts and prayers are with Donna and the entire Keller family during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bob's death. I loved working with Bob at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Whether sharing a journey through Mount Auburn's many roads or planning for new sales areas, Bob was a compassionate listener and he shared many wise opinions with me over the years. Goodbye, Bob.

I am very sad to hear of Bob's passing. We worked together at Mount Auburn Cemetery for many years until Bob's retirement. Bob and I would go out for falafel wraps every so often even after he retired. He was a great gentleman to all, and showed his love of the outdoors with lunchtime walks to the top of Washington Tower at Mount Auburn. We spoke about his time with the Boy Scouts and a scout trip to Philmont Scout Ranch. How great that he got to pilot kids on a Franklin bus route, and to spend retirement with grandkids.

I was blessed to work at Mount Auburn Cemetery with Bob Keller from 1997 until he retired. He was thoughtful, kind and funny as well. He often gave me serious advice about life sprinkled with a little humor and a twinkle in his eye.

Bob once even offered to give me his old Volvo 240 - my favorite make and model of car! Bob actually drove many Volvo sedans and station wagons during the time in which we worked together and we often chatted about the safety, reliability and practicality of them in the break room - among many other conversations.

Bob was always extremely generous with his time and i know that i am not alone in saying that you always felt safe, cared for and respected in Bob's company (no doubt this is why he was so good at his job of serving families in their greatest hours of need after losing a loved one).

Sending much love to family and friends of Bob. I am so glad i had the chance to work with him for many years.

When I entered the sales world at Mount Auburn, it meant so much to me to have Bob's blessing. He was deeply respected by all his colleagues and the legacy of the work he did here lives on. Sincerest condolences to Bob's family and friends.
