Robert A. Kempiak

Robert A. Kempiak Sr., age 73, life-long resident of Warrenville, IL, passed away, after an 18 year struggle with the devastating effects of Lewy Body Dementia on September 4, 2022. Loving husband of 50 years to Janet M. Kempiak. Beloved father of the late Robert (Kandy) Kempiak Jr., Kenneth (Karen) Kempiak, Jennifer Kempiak and Karolyn (Kevin) Leonard. Beloved son of the late Florence and Arthur Kempiak. Proud grandfather of Nichole (Craig) Tinerella, Kellie (Jim) Bessler, Keith (Mary) Muenz, Emily Kempiak, Kaitlyn Kempiak, Robert (Melissa) Leonard, Natalie Muenz, Andrew Leonard, Korina Walach, Jessica Kempiak and Thomas Leonard. Great-grandfather of Addie Tinerella, Brantley Tinerella, Brooklyn Bessler, Penelope Muenz and Bentley Leonard. Dear brother of Diana (the late Ralph) Daugherty, William (Joan) Kempiak and Gary Kempiak. Fond brother-in-law to Mike (Wanda) Yeska. Beloved uncle of the late Richard, Michael, Jackie, Renee, Vicki, Gary Jr., Jason, Mike Jr., Levi, the late Drew, Colter, Dallas, Oakley, Denver, Callahan, Melrose, Mozelle, Remington and True.
From age 17 until his retirement in 2007, he was a proud member of Local 265 Sheet Metal Workers and a union officer. Following in his grandfather and father's footsteps, he passed his love of the trade onto his son, Robert Jr.
His family was his greatest treasure. Until he was unable to do so, he loved hunting, fishing, playing guitar and harmonica and traveling. His humor, knowledge and companionship will be greatly missed. His wife Janet, wants to truly thank all who were supportive through his arduous journey.
A memorial celebration to honor Bob will be held Sunday, October 16th from 12:30 to 5:30 at the Warrenville VFW post 8081. Casual visitation until 2pm when there will be a Catholic Liturgy of the Word followed by eulogies and remembrances.Meal to follow.
