Pastor Robert Wayne Kimsey, age 78, of McCaysville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 4, 1946 in South Portsmouth, Kentucky. Robert proudly served in the United States Navy on board the USS John W. Weeks DD-701. Robert retired from the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company after 36 years of service. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel, member of The Cincinnati Art Club, The Kentucky Poetry Society, and the Georgia Poetry Society. He was a writer, artist, avid birder, walker of the high trails, and wader of cold trout streams.
He was a member of The Ridge Community Church. Robert loved The Lord Jesus Christ and served him as a Biblical Counselor, Benevolence Pastor, and The Benevolence Chair for Good Samaritans of Fannin County for many years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Kimsey.
Robert is survived by his beloved childhood sweetheart of 58 years, Linda L. Kimsey; children, Kristy Gaskins (Raymond) and Martin Kimsey (Connie) both of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Lindsey Chapman (Corey), Chloe Kimsey, and Grace Kimsey; great-grandchildren, Norah Chapman and Lucy Chapman; siblings, Richard Kimsey (Susan) and Rebecca Mele (Joe); sister-in-law, Vanessa Kimsey; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services to honor the life of Mr. Kimsey will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. from the Forestville Baptist Church ( 1311 Nagel Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45255) with Pastor Brent Jones officiating. The family will visit with friends at the church on June 28, 2025 prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in honor of Robert be made to the Ridge Community Church (Memo- Robert Kimsey Memorial Fund). Checks may be mailed to 960 Millholland Road, Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559 or given directly to the church.
