Robert Knedler

Robert "Bob" Knedler, age 89 passed away October 31st at Willow Brook Christian Home. Bob was born in Williamsburg, Ohio to Robert and Emma (McDonald) Knedler. Bob graduated from Union Local High School Milford Center Ohio. He attended Ohio State University and enlisted into the Airforce during the Korean War. Stationed at Bentwaters Airforce Base Suffolk, England where he met his loving wife Sylvia at a Saturday night dance, and she survives. They have three children; Kevin (Dianna) Knedler, Bryan Knedler, Karen (Martin) Payne; Grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Payne, Anna (Mitch) Meinderding; sister Belva Latham; brother John (Barbara) Knedler; special cousin Wayne (Jeanette) McDonald; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; good friends and neighbors.
In the early years Bob loved to hunt and fish, softball took over, and he played for the Worthington Seniors until age 76. During High School, Bob at age 17 Bob played for the State Champions Team. He played basketball all 4 years in high school, and while in the Airforce. The highlight of Bob`s career was obtaining top security clearance to guard H.R.H Prince Phillip husband of H.M Queen Elizabeth. Bob was a member of Marysville BPOE 1130 (Elks) Lodge. State Officer 1987, Past Exalted Ruler B.P.O.E 2700 Worthington, Ohio Elks Lodge. Bob worked for O.M Scott Company Marysville, Ohio, and St Ann's Hospital Westerville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL 450 W. Olentangy Street Powell, Ohio 43065 followed by an Elks Memorial Service, and Military Honors at 2:00 PM. Private interment at a later date.
