Mr. Robert Dean Kniss, 95, of Galesburg, died at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Seminary Manor.

He was born March 31, 1930, in Keithsburg, the son of Fred and Margaurite (Hurxthal) Kniss. He married Virginia R. Zoborosky on July 6, 1957, in Hillside. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1988, after more than 31 years of marriage. He later married Cathy Kier Glasgow.

He is survived by two sons, Steve Kniss of Monroe, Washington and Jon Kniss of Lake Stevens, Washington; one grandchild; Maddy and a sister, Dorothy Armstrong of Issaquah, Washington. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Fred, Floyd, Dale, Donnie, Bud, and Paul Kniss, and a sister, Margie.

Bob was an insurance agent and broker for many years. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1948. He served in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Monmouth College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and played football. Being a fan of football, his favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. He also coached football in Knoxville, Aledo, and Galesburg at the junior, high school, and college levels. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a family guy. Bob was of Lutheran faith.

Cremation will be accorded. His remains will be laid to rest next to Virginia in Memorial Park Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
