Robert S. Kovach, age 87, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. Born on August 4, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Samuel and Lillian Kovach.

Robert was the beloved husband of 64 years to Shirley (née Larsen). He was a devoted father to Dale (Cindy) Kovach, Tracy (Mike) Rodriguez, Dan (Ann Marie) Kovach, Kim (Mark) Robinson, Doug (Heidi) Kovach, Gail Spalsbury, and Karrie Foster. He was cherished by his many grandchildren-Kayla, Chelsea, Nick, Megan, Rachel, Alex, Naida, Aaron, Sam, Lilly, Sean, Shannon, Molly, Maggie, Nathan, Nicole, Mahala, Chloe, Brianna, and Taylor-and 14 great-grandchildren, with four more on the way. Robert is also survived by his brother Edward Kovach and was a loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Elder.

Robert lived a life full of adventure and joy. He loved boating, camping, swimming, and fishing. Robert had a lifelong passion for his model trains. An athlete at heart and a proud Marine, Robert embodied strength and dedication throughout his life. He was a man of faith and a devoted Catholic.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or St. Brendan's Parish in North Olmsted.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park – Westwood Abbey Mausoleum, 6265 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, OH 44070. A Catholic Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Brendan's Church, 4242 Brendan Ln, North Olmsted, OH 44070.

Robert will be laid to rest privately following his funeral mass.
