Robert Kresge Obituary
He was born in Stroudsburg on June 23, 1928. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karolina (Karola) who suffered a serious injury in 2007, and has been residing at Pleasant Valley Manor since her accident. Bob enjoyed visits with Karola, and was so grateful for the outstanding care the Pleasant Valley Manor staff consistently provided.
Bob had a good sense of humor and enjoyed many activities including travel, golf and archery. He competed in many golf and archery events over the years including the Keystone Senior Olympics where he won several medals.
Bob enjoyed 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He loved to travel and the people he met through the years. He retired in Stroudsburg where he began his second career as a foreman at Metropolitan Edison. He was able to fulfill his wish to retire at age 55, and he enjoyed good health until his passing.
He is survived by his daughters, Betty L. MacIntire and her husband, Richard, of Gillett, Linda Ann Kresge of Stroudsburg; his son, Robert James Kresge Jr. and his wife, Linda, of California; his granddaughters, Caroline MacIntire, Theresa MacIntire and Heather Siptroth; his grandson, Robert James Kresge III; great-grandson, Owen Siptroth; and sister, Jacqueline Neipert of Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Carrie Kresge; his sister, Bertha Segar; and his brother, William H. Kresge.
A private memorial service, in celebration of his life, will be held by the family.
A special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Pleasant Valley Manor.
