Robert Daniel Lane

Robert Daniel Lane (age 85) entered into rest on November 7, 2023 in Bellingham, WA. Robert was born to Frank Henry and Catherine Frances "Linehan" Lane on October 31, 1938 in Medford, Massachusetts. Following graduating from high school, Robert enlisted in the US Navy, serving his country for over 20 years. After his retirement from the USN in 1978, Robert work for Boeing until his retirement. During Roberts life, he enjoyed many hobbies which included, Boating, Fishing, Crabbing, Traveling, and visiting beaches. Not only did he enjoy the outdoors but was an avid sports fan and rooted for the Mariners, Boston Celtics and of course enjoyed a good BBQ no matter what the occasion. He will always be remembered as a loving, thoughtful, kind and generous man. Robert had a lot of friends and loved to travel. He always had a special place in his heart for his four legged dog friends. Robert was always great company, and full of laughter. Robert is survived by his ex-wife, Randi Sharp; daughter, Alice Woodburn of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren Nichole Braun / Hall, Erin Morelli Mettellie, Josh Ward-Lane, Nicholas Ward and Kacey Ward; seven great grandchildren, and leaves behind many friends. Preceded in death by Joan Taylor, his first wife and mother of his two daughters; daughter, Melody Ann Lane; brother, Frank Lane and sister, Shirley. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jerns Funeral Home 4131 Hannegan Rd Suite 106 Bellingham, WA 98226.
