Yesterday

I read coach's obituary and was extremely impressed, however not surprised. I met coach when I was a student at East Jr High. We became close while I was the captain of the football team and Bob was my coach. I was named to the all-star team and we had a game in New Bedford.
We won the game but I was taken out of the game in the third quarter with a broken nose. I had to wait until we got back to Brockton to have my nose set. Coach stayed with me the whole time I was being tended to. Hopefully this will put a smile on the face of the reader. At the point that my nose cracked extra nurses came into the procedure room. Coach had fated and collapsed into a chair.
We remained close while I played for the varsity team. I'm deeply sorry for his passing but are very happy to see he had a wonderful life.
With love Peter Donnelly
