Robert Brooks Lavelle

Robert Brooks Lavelle, 80, of Barbour Street, Bradford, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born August 27, 1944, in Washington DC, he was a son of the late James Ivan and Marjorie (Green) Lavelle.

He was a graduate of Woodward School for Boys in Washington DC. He later joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged on August 30, 1970.

Mr. Lavelle had been employed at Sears Department Store, Prizant's Carpet Store for over 20 years, where he retired. He moved to Florida and worked as a security guard for a private security company.

Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 108 in Bradford. While raising his sons he was a Scoutmaster for Troop 34 in Highland Park. He enjoyed camping and anything to do with being outdoors.
Surviving is his companion of 13 years, Patricia Verrelli, with whom he resided, three sons Jeffrey (Lara) Lavelle, of Midlothian VA, Jamey Lavelle, of Springdale, and Brian (Nikki Croyts) Lavelle, of McKeesport, four grandchildren, one brother, Richard (Elva) Lavelle, of Albany NY, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gwendoyln H. Lavelle who died May 4, 1999.

Friends will be invited to a Celebration of Life at a later date to be announced. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
