DELMAR - Robert J. Limage, 75, of Delmar, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving wife, Bessie G. Malamas, and daughter, Emily H. Limage.
He was born on August 30, 1948, to Leslie P. Limage Sr. and Doris M. (Trevillian) in Buffalo.
Rick, to those who knew him in Buffalo, and Bob to those who knew him in Albany, touched many lives through his time with us. After serving his country in the Army, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Buffalo, where he also met the love of his life for 51 years, Bessie. Bob moved to Albany in the early 1970s, where he had a long career working as an Investment Officer for the N.Y.S. Comptroller.
He enjoyed gardening and growing heirloom tomatoes in the rich soil that he cultivated for years. If he wasn't gardening, he could be spotted at Sycamore Golf Course with his buddies, "The Golfettes."
Gardening and golf were his passions, but Bessie and Emily were his forever loves. Bob will always live on through those left behind. His "brown-eyed girl," Emily, and the "sunshine of his life," Bessie. He will forever be missed but never forgotten. There are no goodbyes. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Malamas; daughter, Emily Limage; nieces and nephew, Sharon Limage, Leslie Limage III (Elizabeth Black), and Melissa Limage Garringer (Jason Garringer), several great-nieces and a great-nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Doris and Les Limage; and his younger brother, Leslie P. "Babe" Limage Jr.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home in Delmar.
