Robert Lindner Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 14, 2025.
Robert Joseph Lindner of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 74 after a lengthy period of chronic pain and disability.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann Lindner (nee McCullough); his daughter, Ashleigh Brooke Lindner Scarbrough (Steven) of Braselton, GA; his granddaughter, Vivian Leigh Hewatt; his brother, Carl Lindner of Durham, North Carolina; his special nephew, Ralph Lindner (Amy Brooke) of Huntsville, Alabama, and many other loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl Albert Lindner and Alice Rita Lindner (nee Marshall). Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia.
Bob, the grandson of Scottish and German immigrants, was born in the City of Englewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, on April 16, 1951. As the youngest son of an engineer and a dedicated civil servant for the Village of Ridgewood, New Jersey, Bob graduated from Paramus High School in 1969. An early employer relocated Bob to Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Mercer University, in 1977. He later earned a Master's degree in Financial Services from The American College.
Friends and guests in the Lindner home experienced Bob's love of cooking, quick wit, easy laugh and ability to make every single person feel special. He sought to make a measurable difference in the lives of his clients and his staff members, and enjoyed quietly mentoring many young entrepreneurs whose successes were a point of pride. His career took Bob to all corners of the United States and beyond to collaborate with industry leaders, executives, and clients.
Bob was a passionate supporter of local and national charities whose values reflected his own, such as the March of Dimes and Covenant House. He served on the Board of the Atlanta Humane Society from 2004 through 2016 and co-chaired the Georgia Society of the March of Dimes in 2006.
Bob leaves a legacy of hard work, gentle humor, keen intellect, friendship, contribution, and generosity, as well as a truly outstanding collection of silk pocket squares. Bob's family extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who kept Bob and Ann in their thoughts and prayers throughout his lengthy disability.
The family will hold a private celebration of Bob's life and plans to honor his memory in other ways throughout the coming year. Memorials may be directed to the Atlanta Humane Society or the donor's preferred charity.

Very sorry to hear about Bob. Our offices were in the same building for several years. Enjoyed sharing a scotch and cigar with Bob. Always elegantly dressed.
