Funeral DirectorsRobert Lee Lishka, a retired master welder of LVT Steel and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully at his residence in Parma, Ohio, on November 12, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 6, 1939, Robert led a life filled with love, laughter, and numerous cherished memories.
Throughout his career at LVT Steel, Robert was recognized for his hard work and dedication, culminating in receiving the Merit and Outstanding Achievement in Special Training at Lincoln Electric. His work ethic and commitment were exemplified not just in his professional life, but also in his role as a husband and father. He took immense pride in his family, enjoying family vacations and creating lasting memories, while also finding joy in music, dancing, and cheering for his favorite football and baseball teams. Fishing was another of his beloved pastimes, allowing him to connect with nature and unwind.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Linda Marchum (Tim), Robert (Nancy), Charlotte Paolella (the late William), Tamara Henson McGuire, Yugonda Duffy (Lee), and Michelle Lishka-Tomasheski (the late Jerome). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jodi Shrum (Kenneth), William Merryman (Kristie), Dawn Merryman, Jennifer Fletcher (Christopher), Bryan Merryman (Joya), Jerome Tomasheski (Amanda), Chelsea Tomasheski, Abby Young (Nick), Matthew McGuire, and Katherine McGuire. Also his siblings Billy Lishka (Medley), Darlena Wright (Dillard), Joyce Hellen Harris (Cecil), William Lishka (the late Carol), Lorenna Onder-Purdum (Scott), and Sherry Duley. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his many great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evalene Lishka, as well as his parents, William and Vera Lishka. He joins his late siblings and family members, including his daughter Susan Merryman (William), Charles Webber (son), Gail Lishka (daughter), Timothy Hensen (son), David Merryman (grandson), and sisters Nancy Searl (Delbert), Mary Margaret Poston (Gene), and Sharon Kay Sibitroth (Dan).
Family and friends are welcome on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111.
