My contact with Bob was pretty much restricted to Xmas cards--yet somehow his love for Laura and how much she meant to him always came through.

Dear Laura,
I am very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I enjoyed seeing both of you when I brought my mom up to see her sister Alice, Bob's mom.
