Robert "Bob" Allen Luce, a cherished family man, esteemed educator, and respected community leader, passed away on November 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith. Born in Adrian, Michigan, on January 9, 1951, Robert's journey was one marked by dedication to his loved ones and an enduring commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Bob's life was a testament to the power of love and partnership. He married his beloved wife, Kelly (Kerr) Luce, on May 8, 1986, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and mutual support. Their union was blessed with four wonderful children: Robert (Carrie) Luce, Kegan Luce, Tyrus (Trice) Luce, and Lindsay (Jason) Pula. The light of his life shone even brighter with the arrival of his grandchildren, Preston and Regan Luce, Kane, Cora, Ivy, and Zeke Pula, and Thomas Luce, who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and generosity.
Robert was a beloved brother to Michael (Janet) Luce, James (Jerilynn) Luce, John (Cathy) Luce, and Caroline (Jack) Robinson. He also shared a special bond with his brothers-in-law, Jeffery Kerr, Todd (Celia) Kerr, Ronald (Xinia) Kerr, Rodney Kerr, and Michael Kerr. His mother-in-law, Mary Lou Kerr, held a dear place in his heart. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Royal Luce and Inez Caroline (Entreken) Luce, his father-in-law Micheal John Kerr, and his sister-in-law Betty Luce.
An alumnus of the University of Michigan, Bob earned a bachelor's degree that paved the way for a career marked by compassion and leadership. His professional life was diverse and impactful, beginning with his work for the CSX railroad, which exemplified his strong work ethic and dedication. Robert's true calling was in education, where he served as a teacher for Whitmore Lake High School special education students, touching countless lives with his patience and wisdom. His commitment to public service extended into politics, where he made significant contributions as a county commissioner, always striving to improve the community he so dearly loved.
Bob's interests were as rich and varied as his professional life. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace and solace in hunting and fishing, often sharing these moments with family and friends. His passion for sports was evident in his unwavering support for Michigan Football, a pastime that brought him immense joy. Robert was also a voracious reader, forever expanding his mind and sharing the knowledge he gained. Above all, his family was the centerpiece of his life, and every moment spent with them was treasured.
Those who knew Bob will remember him as a loving husband, a selfless father, and a faith-filled friend. His unwavering commitment to his family, his students, and his community reflected the depth of his character and the breadth of his heart. Robert Allen Luce's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday November 14, 2025, at the Beacon of Light United Methodist Church. Rev Russ Poirier will be presiding. Friends and Family are invited to visit on Thursday November 13, 2025, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel.
Those wishing in an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the Bay Shore Family Camp Ministries in Sebewaing Michigan.
