Robert E. Lynch, 94,
St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025.
He was born September 14, 1931 to Claude Sr. and Suzane (Prevot) Lynch in Omaha, Nebraska.
Robert completed his early education at Savannah High School in 1949. He demonstrated a robust work ethic and brilliant mind at the University of New Mexico, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1965 and, subsequently, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1970.
Before embarking on his academic endeavors, Robert dedicated three years of his life to the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1951 to 1954. His patriotic spirit remained a cornerstone of his character throughout his life. After completing his education, Robert joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1962, launching a distinguished 30-year career marked by numerous accolades and achievements.
In 1977, he married Frances M. Radford, the love of his life, with whom he shared life's journey for many years. Together, they explored the vast beauty of America with their beloved RV, traversing country roads and creating a tapestry of memories. Robert was also an avid golfer, often strolling the greens where he found tranquility and fellowship.
Robert was a long-standing member of the First Lutheran Church since his confirmation in 1942. His service extended beyond his religious devotion as he took great joy in volunteering, particularly for the Salvation Army collections during the Christmas season. Robert's ties to his community were further enriched by his involvement in numerous associations - as a 50-year member of Masonic, Elks, Moose lodges, a Scottish Rite Life Member, a member of High Twelve, and the Moila Shriners, his legacy of brotherhood and service is beyond compare.
