Robert E. Mallon

Mallon, Robert "Bob", age 83, of Haledon, formerly of Hawthorne, on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Born in Elmwood Park, Bob had lived in Hawthorne for most of his life before moving to Haledon. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he was a construction worker for many years, working for several companies. Bob was a well-known figure in Hawthorne and coached for several local baseball teams for many years and Hawthorne Cubs football. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the Yankees, Jets and Rangers. He also enjoyed horse racing, a cold Heineken and trips to Lake George.
Bob was the beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" Mallon (nee: Garito). Loving father of Robert Kiener and his wife Jackie of Wyckoff, Kelly Missonellie and her husband William of Hawthorne and Scott Mallon of Riverdale. Dear grandfather of Allison Kiener, Chloe Kiener and Lily Mallon. Dearest brother of Paula Burkhardt.
Friends may visit with the family from 3-7pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, NJ 07506. Funeral service will be private to the family.
