Robert John Mannix, 73, passed away August 15, 2023. He was born in the Bronx, NY in 1949. Bob lived a long and adventurous life. He served two tours in the Vietnam war and worked a long career with Bechtel Power Corporation. He was hired as a Welding Engineer during construction of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating plant in Arizona. While in Arizona he met his wife Patti. For the past 41 years they traveled and eventually settled down in Evans, Georgia where they raised their two girls, Sierra and Cheyenne. Anyone who knew Bob knows that he was a stubborn "Yankee" through and through. He kept his sassy attitude and need for the last word until the very end. He is remembered as a supportive husband, father, Papa, brother and friend. He was never an overly emotional person. He showed his love through sarcasm, foul language and knee squeezes. Bob enjoyed playing golf, spoiling his fur babies with all the human food, watching reruns of NCIS and Mash, listening to music released before 1990 and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Patti, sister and brother-in-law Trish and David, dear friend Mark, daughters Sierra and Cheyenne and grandchildren, Tessa, Ezra and Micah. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the CSRA Humane Society. No memorial service will be held for Bob. He always made it clear to those he loved that he wanted the end of his life to be a celebration. Crack open a drink and share laughs with loved ones to celebrate his life. Expressions of memories and
sympathy are kindly welcomed.

The first time I met Bob, he was so nice and funny. When I left, I went to hug him, and I could tell that was a little uncomfortable for him. BUT, from that day forward, I know he expected the hug and I think he liked it too!! I will always remember him as having a huge heart and loving his family!
