Robert Louis Marafino, age 62, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on October 7, 2025, peacefully at home.
Bob was born April 4, 1963, in Newport, RI, the son of the late Silvio and Constance (Peloquin) Marafino.
Bob graduated from Barrington High School in 1981, joined the Navy and served as a Fire Control Technician. He previously held IT positions as a Systems Engineer for El Paso County in Colorado, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Raytheon Technologies Corporation, Sun Microsystems and Textron Financial.
Bob most recently taught piano lessons and played keyboards for the band Starburn in Colorado Springs using his stage name "Bob Clearwater". He put his prodigious musical skills to use as a keyboard player in several bands over the years, including Treasure Chest and the House Combo at Nic a Nee's, as well as Scut Farkus in the Rhode Island area.
He was an award winning classical and jazz pianist. Earlier in his life, he appeared on and won the television talent program Community Auditions.
Bob was happy surrounded by nature, especially in the mountains, where he found joy hiking, mountain biking, camping, skiing, and rock climbing.
Bob's memory will be forever cherished by his daughter, Alicia E. Marafino, whom he loved unconditionally. He is also survived by his sister Debra S. Moore, her husband David, nieces Katherine Moore, Ashley (Moore) Kuhl and her family.
Bob's memory will also be treasured by his chosen family of the heart, Pamela Brooks, Mason Armstrong, Jon Buzzi, David Sousa, Garo Mikaelian, and Beth and Bill Barker.
Bob's passion for music also bonded him to the members of the band Starburn of Colorado Springs: Dale Creel, Jack Baker, Russ Kleiner, and Pamela Heath. They will miss Bob but will carry his spirit forward in their music.
Memorial services will be held in Colorado Springs, CO, and in Providence, RI. Details are still to be finalized.
