Robert J. Marinelli

Robert J. Marinelli, 91, of Conshohocken, died on January 22, 2024 at his home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 18, 1932 to the late Angleo and Sylvia (Armilea) Marinelli. He was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School class of 1951 and Montgomery County Community College where he studied Criminology. Robert was employed as a Police Officer starting his career with the Philadelphia Police Dept. where he worked for 9 years and went on to the Plymouth Township Police Dept. where he worked for 25 years until his retirement. He cherished his time and the camaraderie with his fellow officers and the friendships made. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, was active with the Roman Catholic High School Alumni Association, and a member of the Sons of Italy in Philadelphia. Robert enjoyed vacations with his family, especially the trips to Ireland. A longtime fan of Frank Sinatra, he was a loyal listener to "Fridays with Frank" and "Sundays with Sinatra". He enjoyed good times with his friends, and most especially quality time with this family, raising his 6 children with love.
Robert is survived by 4 children Diane Arnone & David, Linda DeSanto & Vincent, Margie Sines & David, Paul J. Marinelli & Theresa, 11 grandchildren Anthony & Angela Arnone, Michael Gill (Jill), Vincent DeSanto (Monica), Matthew DeSanto, Gina Marinelli, Dianna Marinelli, Vito Marinelli, Michael & Joseph Marinelli, Serena Marinelli Emery (Eric), 4 great-grandchildren Nicholas Arnone (Maura), Owen Gill, Brody Gill and Ronan Emery, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sons Michael S. Marinelli and Robert D. Marinelli, all 10 of his siblings Ann Marinelli, Hope Viola, Argie Dalo, Edith White, Adel Brun, Nello, Richard, William, Fred & Leo Marinelli, and his former wife Margaret Ann Nace.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 8:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
