Robert William Martin

Robert William Martin, 66, of Hancock, NH, passed away peacefully at home with his family, on Friday, November 7, 2025, after a long battle with multiple system atrophy (MSA). He was born January 17, 1959, in Newton, MA to parents, John L. and Suzannah (Riley) Martin.
Robert (Bob) worked hard all his life and became highly respected in his field of specialty contact lens development and fitting. He was an instrumental partner in establishing Blanchard Contact Lens (BCL) in Manchester, NH, where he worked for 36 years. After his departure from BCL, he worked as the Director of Specialty Lenses at Bausch + Lomb (B+L).
Robert was a kind and generous mentor to many colleagues throughout his career. While employed with B+L, he was recognized for his workmanship and dedication when the company established The Bob Martin Award. This award is presented annually to a B+L representative who exemplifies relentless dedication to customer support, teamwork, and improvement. He was always humble about his accomplishments. His purpose and his passion was to provide for his family.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Siobhan Martin of Hancock, NH; his son John L. Martin of Hancock, NH; his sisters Nancy Henry of TN, and Suzannah Martin of NH; his Aunt Eleanor Smith of MA; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Richard, Patricia, and Mary Martin.
A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, from 12pm to 1pm followed by a reception from 1pm to 4 pm at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge NH, 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, NH 03461. For directions you can go to the website. www.cathedrtalofthepines.org
