Robert Charles Martinek

Robert Charles Martinek, age 68, of Western Springs, Illinois passed away on March 21, 2026, in his home. Loving son of the late Otto and Grace Martinek, Bob was born on February 8, 1958, in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Robert graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1976 and attended Purdue University, where he received his bachelor's degree in biology and was admitted into Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society, one of his proudest accomplishments. Following his college graduation, he attended Loyola Medical School, after which he served as a paramedic, followed by a career in medical sales with Becton Dickinson.

Bob was a self-admitted perfectionist and was an honest, caring, and loyal friend. He tried to live by the Golden Rule with the people in his life and loved interacting with animals and nature. He had a particular fondness for dogs because of their unconditional love, and he enjoyed many fishing trips with his father while growing up. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 11 at Christ Church of Oak Brook. Visitation at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral at 10:30 am. Private burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
