Robert Martinez, born September 6, 1939 in Placedo, Texas, passed away at the age of 86 leaving behind a lifetime of memories and love.
Robert's life was marked by authenticity, independence, and strength. Those that knew him will fondly remember his stories, jokes, and unmistakable personality, all which left a lasting impression. Throughout his life, Robert gathered experiences and cherished family history, carrying forward memories that connected generations and helped preserve his family's legacy.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Narciso and Carlota Martinez, brothers Johnny, Narciso Jr, Steve, Charles, Manuel, Domingo and Frank Martinez, sister Andrea Miliken and nephew Pete Martinez.
He is survived by his children Enrique Gonzalez, Ida Gomez, Sonia Ponce, and Luis Roberto Martinez; his siblings Louis Martinez, Pauline Martinez, Lupe Martinez and Rosemarie Martinez Pena; his grandchildren, Corina Lopez, Reina Ponce Geist, Xavier Lopez, Jose Andres Ponce, Alexandra Ponce, Isabella Martinez, and Roman Ponce; his great grandchildren Mila and Amora, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will continue to honor his memory.
