Gesche Funeral Home & Cremation ServiceRobert "Bob" M. Marty, 88, of Neillsville, died on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI.
Robert Matt Marty was born on July 13, 1937 in Neillsville, WI the son of Casper and Emma (Altimus) Marty. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1955 and was united in marriage to Marilyn Wildish on August 13, 1955. They bought the family farm and together with his wife and children they ran the farm. Bob also worked different construction jobs which led him to learning Masonry. He started Bob's Masonry and worked on numerous farms, businesses, houses, the Highground and more in the area. Many local young men learned masonry and their work ethics from Bob. He always made sure to outwork them. Bob was known for his skills and could fill any masonry request. He designed and created whatever you wanted or dreamed of. On the farm Bob raised prize winning cattle and was named the Neillsville 1988 Agri-Business of the year. In his free-time he worked. He also loved going to his cabin on the Eau Pleine and fishing and, of course, working on the cabin.
He is survived by 5 children, Nook (Kim) Ziegler, Tom (Mary) Marty, Mick (Carla) Marty, Gene (Steve) Marty and Brad Marty, 10 grandkids, Jodi Gross, Josh Ziegler, Julie Woods, Heather Jazdzewski, Cory Marty, Ben Marty, Marcus Marty, Greg Marty, Danielle Kopp and Katie Lewis, 23 Great Grandchildren, a sister, Helen Schoen and 2 sisters-in-law, Cathy Marty and Diane Wildish.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marilyn, siblings, Walter Marty, Fritz Marty, Beth Sternitzky, Esther Jones, Jesse Marty and his twin brother, Bill.
Because Bob was born on the 13th, married on the 13th, a private burial will be held at the town of Grant cemetery on June 13th, 2026. Bob's friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at Bob's Cabin, 129086 Austin Lane, Auburndale, WI 54412 at 13:00, June 13, 2026.
Bob's family would like to thank all of his caregivers, Linda (better known as Lipstick), Darlene and Camille and the House of the Dove nurses for their wonderful compassionate care.
