9/11/12. Was watching television today regarding the 11th Anniversary of that horrible day, 9/11....when I saw Robert D. Mattson's name across the bottom of the screen as one of the victims. It really struck me, as my Dad's name was Robert D.Mattson, Des Moines, Iowa.... (dec. Jan, 1981). I read about your husband, father, friend and what an extraordinary human being he was. And, am saying a prayer for his soul and for your peace of mind. God Bless you.

WE REMEMBER RIP

Dear Lizbeth, Jeannie, and Jimmy,
Jaime just sent me this link and once again, I cried for Bob's memory and what you have all gone through. I admire and respect your strength, and know that he is proud of the lives you have carved out for yourselves these past ten years. Lizbeth, we go WAY back, and I also have so many riotous memories of raising our kids together at the lake. Jeannie, you were always so darn cute and such fun. Jimmy, you were Jaime's first love, at age five! We think of Bob often, his crazy sense of humor, and his caring and commitment to those around him. We wish you all the best, and know that you will be greeted at Heaven's gates and reunited. With Much Love, Bonnie and Dave Coe

On 02/26/1993, after the 1st WTC Attack, I coordinated/participated in the rescue of 40 people from the 94th Floor of 2 WTC. 23 of those removed were rescued by helicopter. Recently I came across a copy of my notes from that day. Bob Mattson was one of those rescued by helicopter. I believe Robert is the same person. It is heartbreaking, and I'm sorry you did not make it out. May You Rest in Peace.

Robert Mattson worked for Fiduciary Trust and so did I. I never knew Robert but many did at Fiduciary Trust I lost my job at Fiduciary in October 2002 and went on over 150 interviews the one interview I went on at US Trust I will never forget. The interviewer ask me Fiduciary Trust do you know Robert Mattson I said I knew the name. He responded he was my best friend my life long friend we took our families on camping trips together and he showed me a picture. Fiduciary was my first job out of college at 22 he probably had kids my age. This continues to be a nightmare for all of us that survived the twin towers the guilt never heals

On September the 11th,2002 I had the honor of wearing Mr. Mattson's name at the preformance of the Mozart Requiem in Columbus Ohio. Please know, that through this music, many people around the world have recieved some sense of comfort and solice. Hopefully Mr. Mattson's friends and family will be able to gain comfort in knowing those lost on that horrible day will never be forgotten. "Strangers are only friends we have yet to meet."

I would just like to send my thoughts and prayers to you. I participated in the "Rolling Requiem" on Wednesday the 11th. In every time zone at exactly 8:46 AM groups sang Mozart's Requiem. My school participated in this, and we each had a button with a name of a victim of 9-11. I received Mr. Mattson's, and I would just like you to know that I am praying for you and that my thoughts, as well as many others at Lincoln High School are with you.

I worked for Fiduciary Trust Co. of

New York from 1965 to 1974. I was

secretary to the firm's general

counsel (Mr. Lacovara), in the Legal

Dept. Bob Mattson was then an Administrative Assistant, and he worked closely with my boss. I remember his great sense of humor

as he would come over to my desk and jokingly ask "what kind of mood

is the boss in" and "is it safe to go in?" He always had his cup of

coffee in his hand, and we always

joked about the events of the day.

When I left in 1974, I lost contact

with many of the people there, but I

have fond memories of my years there.

I will never forget Bob and his

smiling face, his good nature and his jokes, which always added a happy note to my day. May he rest

in peace, and may his wife and family know that he was loved by many people.

Always in our thoughts and prayers. God bless, "Uncle Bob".

I met Bob in 1973 when I started working at Fiduciary Trust Company of New York on Wall Street. In 1974 FTCo. moved up to the 94th floor of 2 World Trade Center. Our offices were elaborate with a "beautiful sea of blue carpet" at our feet. I worked with Bob for 7 1/2 years. He was extremely serious when it came to business, but he was also funny and caring. I especially remember how excited he was when he and his wife adopted his daughter. A few years later I also adopted a daughter and we often compared notes. I haven't seen Bob since 1980 but, through mutual FTCo. friends, always extended greetings. I know that he is watching over his wife and children in his caring way.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
