Robert Mays Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott Funeral Home on Dec. 15, 2025.
Born on July 16, 1972, Jason lived a life defined by loyalty, passion, and an unwavering love for his family.

Jason found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved spending time on the golf course, followed boxing with enthusiasm, and cherished countless hours playing basketball with his brother, Scott-memories filled with laughter, competition, and brotherly bond. A devoted University of Louisville Cardinals fan, Jason proudly supported his team with true Cardinal spirit. Above all else, his greatest love and purpose in life was his family, whom he held close to his heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Beth Mays, whose partnership and devotion were the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his beloved children, Marcus Mays, Rebecca Mays, Sophia Mays, Jarrod Mays, Jessica Mays, and Sarah Swartz, each of whom carried a special place in his heart. Jason was a proud and devoted grandfather to Livvy and Dakota Mays, who brought him immense joy and happiness.

He is also survived by his mother, Janis Mays; his siblings, Scott Mays (Kelly) and Alisha Harned (Gary); and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Roy Mays; his grandparents, Harris and Reva Mays, Harry and Mary Thompson, and James Hinton.

Jason will be remembered for his strength, his generous heart, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply.

Cremation has been chosen. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00am until 2:00pm, with a funeral service at 2:00pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
