Robert Edwin "Bob" McAninch

Robert Edwin McAninch, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 67.

Robert was a highly skilled and dedicated professional in the diesel mechanic field. He was an ASE Certified Master Medium-Heavy Truck Technician and achieved an Advanced Level Specialist certification, a testament to his expertise, commitment, and pride in his work. Throughout his career, Robert was known for his strong work ethic, technical knowledge, and reliability, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Robert was a Class of 1977 graduate at Starpoint High School in Pendleton, NY.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage before her passing in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his niece, Chelsea.

Robert is survived by his mother, Patricia; his sister, Linda; his brother, Dave (Melissa); his stepchildren, Lauren and Justin; his cherished grandchildren, Peyton and Paisley; and his niece and nephew, Amber (Tyler) and DJ.

Outside of work, Robert had a lifelong love for cars - particularly Chevy Corvettes and El Caminos which he owned and admired over the years. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed time on the course, and he found joy in cooking for family and friends. Those who knew Robert will remember his steady presence, his passions, and the way he showed care through the things he loved to do.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the Masonic Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
