Robert McGlown

Robert Elliot McGlown, 72, of Melfa, passed away on December 14, 2025 in Parksley.
Born on July 31, 1953 in East Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert McGlown and Alice Lorraine Arrington. He has one sister, Sharon, and two brothers, Sherwood and Rory. His family knows him as Elliot, while his friends called him Bob. He grew up in New Jersey and Virginia. He enjoyed traveling and skiing, making many cross country trips. As a young man he was a bartender on the Jersey shore. He married Eileen Maurer and had a little girl named Lauren Audra.
Robert was a Chemical Operator for various companies in the Industrial Park in Lakewood, New Jersey for over 20 years. Elliot also enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels. He shared a life with his late partner Marty.
Elliot was an animal lover. He always had dogs and cats throughout his life. He loved being outdoors, taking care of his yard, tending to the garden and laying in the pool. The ocean was a special place for him where he enjoyed kayaking. He really enjoyed working with his hands and could fix anything. He often would lend others a hand on house projects. Before he passed he was rebuilding an old farmhouse with his friends. He is loved dearly by the girls, daughter Lauren and nieces Tiffany, Courtney and Amber.
Robert is survived by Daughter, Lauren Caplan of Naples, FL.
