Robert "Bob" R. McGraw Jr., age 71, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 26, 2024 at his home in Indianapolis.
Bob was born May 8, 1953 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Robert R. and Barbara J. (Stader) McGraw Sr. He attended Emmerich Manuel High School in Indianapolis. Bob retired from Laborers Union Local 120 in Indianapolis. His claim to fame was that he had the opportunity to help build Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Bob enjoyed boating, fishing and caring for his grand-dog "Alpo." He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and visiting casinos. Bob will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, especially to his late wife Kathleen, who he cared for up until her passing during covid. Bob will be missed by his family and friends who all meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death on October 15, 2020 by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathleen Ann (Carrico) McGraw, whom he married in 1990 in Indianapolis. He was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Coakley; siblings, Stacy McGraw & Danny McGraw.
Bob is survived by his children, Jim (Jennifer) Coakley of Morgantown, Kristen (Charles) Hudson of North Carolina & Kathleen (David) Ploog of Fairland; siblings, Karen Smock of Indianapolis, Teri McGraw of Greenwood, Jan (Dennis) Murphy of Brown County & Angela (Gene) Mills of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Carla McGraw of Franklin.
Pastor Vern Snyder will conduct a funeral service on Monday, June 3rd at 1 p.m. at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Visitation will be on Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Monroe County.
Memorial contributions may be sent in memory of Bob to the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th Street Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
