Robert "Bob" William McGraw
Spartanburg, SC - Robert "Bob" William McGraw, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Betty Joyce Brooks McGraw for 68 years. Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Walter A. McGraw and Pauline Greer McGraw.
A U. S. Navy Veteran having fought in the Korean War, Mr. McGraw was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Cecil's Business College. He owned Bob McGraw Electrical Company for 35 years and was a longtime member and deacon at Green Street Baptist Church, now First Baptist Spartanburg.
He was dedicated to his wife, the love of his life, and true caretaker in love as his health declined. His children are extremely thankful for the kind and loving care their Mom provided for their Daddy.
In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters, Debbie McDade, and her husband, Steve of Spartanburg, SC and Bobbie Hatchett and her husband, Dwayne, of Roebuck; four grandchildren, Hope Poteat (Chris), Robbie McDade (Katie), Maddie and Will Hatchett; two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Elijah Poteat. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Smith and two brothers, W. A. Jr. and James McGraw.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Thomas Moore and The Rev. Larry Fleming.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lee B. Taylor and his wonderful staff for taking special care of Bob for so many years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, Agape Care of Spartanburg, 123 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family appreciates their kindness and care.
