Robert B. "Bob" Meltesen

Robert "Bob" Meltesen, affectionately known as "Bobby" in his younger years, may have sometimes come across as a bit of a smartalic - but those who knew him best understood that his sharp wit and unforgettable one-liners were just part of his charm. His humor was unmatched, and he loved to share it with anyone within earshot. Beneath his playful teasing was a kind, loyal man with a heart of gold.
A lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, Bob endured countless nail-biting seasons filled with both heartbreak and triumph. His passion for the team was infectious - so much so that he even convinced his wife, Kym, to switch her football allegiance, a true testament to his persistence and persuasive nature. He later passed that same love of the game down to their children, Kyra and Colin, who grew up cheering alongside him.
When he wasn't rooting for the Vikings, Bob could often be found on the road, exploring backroads and stopping at antique shops and thrift stores in search of unique treasures. He had an eye for spotting hidden gems - some valuable, others simply pieces that brought him joy or added a special touch to their home. Together, Bob and Kym shared countless adventures, the greatest of which was finding their perfect home in Arkansas, where they were to begin a new chapter surrounded by nature and community.
In recent years, Bob found peace and purpose in tending to his garden. His green thumb and love for the outdoors meant there was always something blooming under his care. Side by side with Kym, he could often be found planting, pruning, or simply enjoying the serenity of the yard they built together.
Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loyal friend. His humor, warmth, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by Kym, Kyra, Colin, his extended family, many friends, coworkers, and neighbors who were lucky enough to know him.
Though he has left this world too soon, his laughter, love, and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Kym Meltesen, daughter, Kyra Cook Meltesen, son, Colin Meltesen, father, Harland Meltesen, sister, Wanda Fransman, aunts, Delia Duncan and Joyce Waltermath, and uncle, Niles Meltesen.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Donna DeFord, aunt, Elain Felker and uncle, Delman DeFord.
According to Bob's wishes, a private family viewing will be held at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, along with a time for a private visitation for extended family and friends.
