Robert A. Michaels, 78, of Sheffield Lake, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
Born September 6, 1946, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, Robert moved to Sheffield Lake at a young age and made it his home for the past 67 years.
He dedicated over 30 years to Ford Motor Company in Lorain, working as both a laborer and truck driver, before retiring in 2006.
A proud veteran and active member of his community, Robert was involved in AMVETS Post #22, VFW Post #8686, Amherst Eagles, FMVG, the Military Jeep Club, IPMS, and the Motorpool. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed building model airplanes and model trains, hobbies that reflected his patience and attention to detail. Most of all, his family was everything to him, he will be greatly missed.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Teresa (née Mooney) Michaels; his children, Anthony Michaels (Katy Dodt) and Brandy Michaels (Thomas Verrill); his cherished grandchildren, Avery, Emerson, Margaret, and William; and his sister, Ann Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Anna (nee Subach) Michaels.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion, where military honors will be presented.
