Robert Putnam Miller

Robert Putnam Miller, 80, of Kansasville, Wis., and Pensacola, Fla., passed away on June 16, 2025, of cancer at his summer home on Eagle Lake, Wis. He was the son of Robert Hugh and Cathryn Bruton Miller, former owners of Miller's Flowers in Racine. Bob graduated from St. John's Military Academy in 1963, and UW-Madison in 1968, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity.

Bob was a decorated Army combat engineering officer who served in Vietnam. He wrote two Army Magazine articles and a fictionalized account "Warrior, Wayfarer" based on his experience. He was a manager at John Deere Construction Equipment Co., for 37 years, based primarily in Moline, Ill., Sacaton, Ariz., and Tokyo, Japan.

Bob loved classical music and was an avid golfer. He spent winters in Pensacola at the Perdido Bay Golf Club, and summers at Pan Yack Park on Eagle Lake. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Mary Kay; a son, Robert Andrew Miller ( Erin); grandson, Wesley Robert Miller; sisters, Hilary Miller Krejcha (Mark) and Wendy Miller (Gary Wood); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved dog, Skye.

Bob will be interred at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, near his winter home of 20 years. Memorial donations in Bob's name may be made to The Gary Sinese Foundation, which supports our military and first responders (garysinesefoundation.org) or the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra (pensacolasymphony.com)donate.
