Robert Earl Miller, Sr., aged 67, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on July 27, 1957, Robert was a dedicated family man whose warmth and kindness will be cherished by all who knew him.
Robert’s life was marked by his love for his family and the joy he found in laughter and shared moments. His fondest memories include spending time with his loved ones, creating lasting bonds that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. The love he held for his children, Robert (Mindy) Miller Jr. and Robin (Dustin) Richard, was evident in everything he did. He also delighted in the joyful company of his grandchildren—Mark, Kyle, and Alexis Cox, along with Cameron Miller—who brought him immense pride and happiness.
A proud husband, Robert celebrated many wonderful years of marriage to his beloved wife, Barbara Miller, whom he married on August 23, 1975. Their union was one steeped in mutual respect and unwavering love. Robert was also predeceased by Barbara, who passed away earlier, and he missed her dearly throughout his life.
He is survived by his siblings, Sissie (Willie) Beck and Ricky Vance, and he will be remembered by several nieces and nephews who carry on his legacy. Robert was also preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Katheryn Miller, his daughter Sheila Cox, his brother Ronnie Miller, and his grandson Lil Robbie Miller. Each of these significant figures in his life shaped the man Robert became and the love he extended to others.
Known for his interests in fishing, hunting, and horror movies, Robert was an avid outdoorsman and a passionate collector of guns and firearms. His adventurous spirit and zest for life endeared him to many, including his best friend of 40 years, Richard Prine. Together, they created countless memories filled with camaraderie and laughter.
For those who wish to pay their respects, visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN, on October 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, concluding with a gathering until 2:00 PM.
Robert Earl Miller, Sr. will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for his generous heart and the joy he brought into the lives of everyone he encountered. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
