Prayers go out to the surviving family and friends.

I was saddened to hear of Bob's premature passing. I spent many an evening in his company, enjoying a pint down the local pub in finchley. I will raise a pint of ESB to you this evening Bob.

I am extremely sad to hear of Bob's sudden death. He was a lovely man and a great professional. When I worked for AP in london in 2007, he was a great help and suppport, and as kindred spirits who followed the fortunes of West Brom, we soon became friends. When the Baggies appeared at a Championsdhip playoff at Wembley, he invited me into the press box - typical Bob. I admired the cool efficiency with which he filed a splendid report on the match. When I left AP and relocated to Worcestershire, he, Pauline and a friend visited and we had a most enjoyable day. I mourn the passing of a true gentleman and professional,and send my love to Pauline and the family at this sad time.

So very sorry for the sudden loss of such a talented person like Mr.Millward. May you all find a measure of peace in the following thought at Psalms 34:18-"God is near to those broken at heart..."

You can feel that Death can leave a heartache that nothing can heal, just know that Love can leave a memory that no one can steal.

Mrs. Millward and family, we are sorry for your loss. Though we are told "time and unforeseen occurences befalls us all" in the bible it is never easy to part with a loved one. We can gain comfort in knowing that one day soon it will be possible to see Robert again. May you continue to stay strong and build faith.

Pauline - I am Bob's cousin, Jan, Doris's daughter. My Auntie Nora sent me the entry in the Birmingham Mail and I was so sad to hear about the premature death of Bob. I last saw him at Mom's 80th birthday party I think. I live in Yorkshire now. I'd love to get in touch some time.

Pauline: Dennis Passa here in Australia. I want to pass along my sympathies and to say how sorry I was to hear about Robert. I spent three delightful days with him in Port Elizabeth after having not seen him since the Rugby World Cup of 2003 (when I also met you briefly in Sydney). It was so great to see him again and so happy, which made for all the more of a shock when I heard when I was nearly home from South Africa. He was a lovely man and an extreme pleasure to know.

To family of Robert I am so sorry for your lost, Let me share a scripture with you at James 4:8 were it says Draw close to god and he will draw to you. I will keep the family in my heart and prayer.

Any of us who read newspapers are familiar with Robert's work. He was way too young not to be with us anymore.

He was very passionate about his work and it showed. His perspective on the exploits of the athletes he covered will be missed.

We send our thoughts to the family. During times such as this we are thankful we have family and God's word to comfort us.
