Robert Odell Minnis

Robert Odell "Bobby" Minnis, Sr., 81, of Semora, died on Monday, July 21, 2025. Born in Durham County, Robert O. Minnis was the son of the late James Brown Minnis, Sr. and Frances "Wicker" Minnis Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Brown Minnis and his sister, Frankie Broadhead. He was retired as a lineman after 50 years of dedicated service for Piedmont Electric. Bobby was a loving husband for 50 years and devoted father. He enjoyed living on lake Hyco.

Bobby Minnis is survived by his wife, Brenda Carver Minnis of the home; three children; Alecia Neville (Tim) of Burlington, Gene Wolfe (Jane) of Roxboro and Robert Odell "Robby" Minnis Jr. of Chapel Hill; Two sisters, Marie Sturdivant (Larry) of Chapel Hill, Faye Stephens; one step brother, John Moore; three step sisters, Janise Moore, Joan Haynes (Ernie), Billie Delaney (Mike); four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 2pm, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Brooks & White funeral home, with Rev. Chris Talley officiating. Burial will follow at the Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2pm prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Scott Stephens, Darren Sturdivant, Adam Carden, Dustin Carden, Jordan Butner, Jacob Wolfe and Richard Harris Jr.
