Robert Lawrence Motley Sr. of District Heights, Maryland passed peacefully on October 24th 2025. He was born on July 17th, 1938 to the late James Earl Motley and Annabel Duffeey Motley. He was affectionately known as "Larry" the youngest of six children.
After high school he honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. A man of unwavering integrity and discipline Larry worked at the United States Printing Office and the United States Capitol for over 50 years. He was a Master Cabinet Maker performing work on historic pieces, requiring a high degree of precision to detail, and a reverance for the historic building that he loved.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Joan Blanche Walls Motley of the home, one son Robert Lawrence Motley Jr. (Gina) of Prince Frederick, Maryland, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and one special Cat Baby Blue.
