Robert John Muellemann, Jr., 54, of Salisbury, North Carolina passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, as the result of a tragic automobile accident while on his way to work.
Rob was born on November 9, 1971, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Robert John Muellemann, Sr. and Shirley June Miicke Muellemann. He grew up in Waukegan, Illinois, and attended Round Lake High School.
Rob worked for Environamics for the past 13 years as a CNC Operator and Programmer, where he was known for the precision and care he put into developing complex machining programs. He was known as a hardworking and dedicated employee who took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.
Rob had a personality that could light up any room. He was funny, kind, hardworking, and full of love for everyone he met. His quick sense of humor and laughter made him a joy to be around, and he had a special way of making people feel welcome and cared for.
He loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, swimming, and boating. Rob was also known as a master griller who loved smoking meats and hosting family cookouts. He was a devoted Chicago Cubs baseball fan and proudly cheered on the Chicago Bears every football season.
After meeting later in life, Rob welcomed Teresa and her large family with open arms. What had once been a small family of just him and his son quickly grew to include Teresa, her son, daughter, adopted daughter, three stepdaughters, their significant others, grandchildren, and many extended family members. While such a change might feel overwhelming to some, Rob never hesitated. He embraced each of them with genuine warmth and unconditional love. There is no doubt that he and Teresa were true soulmates.
Rob is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Teresa Lynette Isenhour-Muellemann of Salisbury, NC; his son, Robert Raymond Muellemann; and his stepchildren, Saundra Kandler, Christina (Steve) Grose, Jessica (Ronnie) Beck, Tiffani Robinson, Justin (Ashlyn) Peeler, and Danielle Kandler.
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Christopher, Adriana, Haylee, Kailee, Lily, Landin, Cheyann, Kaiden, Collin, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Declan, Brylee, Corbin, and Coltin.
Rob is further survived by his parents, Robert John Muellemann, Sr. and Shirley June Muellemann of Salisbury, NC; his brothers, Richard Scott (Crystal) Muellemann and Raymond Muellemann; his nephew Damon; and his neices, Piper and Ava, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Raymond Robert "Chunk" Muellemann.
A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, North Carolina on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 6pm-8pm.
Rob's sudden passing is an unexpected tragedy for his beloved wife, his parents and siblings, his children and grandchildren, and the many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
