My husband, Robert Mulvena a proud native of Greenpoint Brooklyn was one of 9 siblings born to Joan and John Mulvena on October 23,1951.

Rob and I met and fell in love while working for the New York City Department of Correction. After marriage and starting a family we relocated to Bellerose, Queens, the community we've called home for 30 years.

Robert was known for his gregarious nature, quick wit and as they used to say " being a stand up guy."

He also loved sports, the horses, a good card game, watching NCIS, and having a cold one now and then.

Above all, Rob really cherished family. Together we raised two wonderful, now grown children; Kristen and Kenneth. They were his greatest accomplishment and the light of his life.

Rob and I bickered, perhaps more than we should have at times. All couples do. But I always knew that he loved and adored me and me him. We were so lucky.

Most of you reading this already know that Rob spent the last 5 years battling significant health issues. The struggles we faced as a family brought us even closer together. His main goal was to be able to walk our daughter down the aisle on her wedding day. We are so sorry that your body couldn't hold on any longer. We know you will be with us regardless.

We know you wanted us to stay strong and we will.

We will miss you and love you forever and always.

Fly high with the angels and continue to watch over us.

Your loving family.

In addition to flowers, we are also welcoming donations - If you would like, please make a memorial donation in Robert's name to the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. Link provided below.
