Robert Murdock Obituary

Robert W. Murdock, age 80, of Seeley, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his home.
Robert William Murdock was born January 5, 1945, in Waukesha, WI, the son of William and Iola (Myers) Murdock. His family moved to Hayward, WI where Bob graduated from high school in 1963. On August 13, 1967, Bob was united in marriage to Charlene Jerome, in Hayward. Bob and Charlene made their home in Seeley, WI raising their five children. Bob served his country for a combined thirty-four years in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Bob was also a Hunter Education and Snowmobile Safety Instructor. He served as the sexton for the Seeley Riverside Cemetery.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene; five children, Sara (David) Chambers of Fall Creek, WI, Laura (Scott) Poppe of Hayward, Mary (Scott) Nichols of Cottage Grove, MN, Jeremy (Jessica) Murdock of Hayward, WI Joshua (Amy) Murdock of Eau Claire, WI; eleven grandchildren, Colton and Cailey Chambers, Jordan and Hunter Poppe; Zach and Carson Nichols, Ella White, Jace and Jenna Murdock; Em and Dylan Murdock; siblings, JoAn Moncel, Barb Weber, Colleen Kreil, William Murdock and Walter Murdock; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, William (Mary) Murdock; mother and stepfather, Iola (William) Weber; and a sister, Marie Newton-Christman.
A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Cable United Church of Christ with Pastor Phil Milam officiating. A time of gathering with the family will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Military honors will be accorded by the Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program.
