Robert "Buddy" Conover Myers, Jr., 65, of Banner Elk, NC, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Atrium Health - Main, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Athens, TN, Mr. Myers was the son of the late Robert Conover Myers and the late Norma (Jo) Watson Myers. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Myers.
Buddy Myers worked in the paper manufacturing industry most of his life. He spent many years at Bowater in Catawba, then worked as a traveling sales representative for AstenJohnson. When he wasn't traveling for work he could be found spending time with his family. He was an avid collector of folk art and enjoyed blacksmithing and golfing with friends, but his biggest hobby was his grandson Frank. Buddy Myers never met a stranger; he made friends wherever he went and was always available to help anyone in need.
Surviving are his spouse, Elizabeth (Beth) McDaniel Myers; Robert (Beau) Myers, III of Banner Elk, NC; daughter, Sarah Myers (Robert) Hancock; grandson, Frank Hancock; two brothers, Richard (Kim) Myers, Steven (Tracy) Myers.
There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends to be announced at a later date.
