Robert Brian Nelson

Robert "Brian" Nelson, 44, of Joppa, MD passed away on October 2, 2015 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he is the son of Nancy Louise (Shumate) Nelson of Havre de Grace and the late William Robert Nelson. A 1989 graduate of Harford VoTech High School, he worked for Harford Machine Shop as a machinist. He was a member of the Maryland Cactus Society and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, mountain biking, and recreational shooting. He also enjoyed the beach, hiking, eating, Formula One racing and he loved astronomy and weather. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Dominic Nelson of Abingdon; daughter, Savannah Nelson of Abingdon; brother, Kevin Nelson (Maria Connie) of Havre de Grace; sister, Beverly Campbell (Cecil) of Pylesville; nieces and nephew, Victoria Nelson, Lauren Nelson and Bradley Nelson; aunt and uncle, Jimmy and Sue Kimmel; and cousin, Eric Kimmel. He is also survived by members of the Shumate family of Forest Hill. Pallbearers will be Kevin Nelson, Cecil Campbell, Dominic Nelson, Chris Martin, Jimmy Kimmel, Eric Kimmel, Dennis Watts, Mike Thomas and Richard Wachter.
