Robert Coursen Off

On Friday, April 25, Robert "Cory" Off passed away at the age of 69. Surrounded by his beloved family, he passed peacefully at his home in Del Norte, Colorado.
Cory was adopted in 1955 by his loving parents, Clinton and Barbara Off. He was raised on the Off Ranch in Del Norte, where he developed a deep love for the land, animals, and people, along with a steadfast commitment to his community and family. Cory had a special gift for building relationships, connecting with people in a deeply empathetic way, and bringing humor and light to every situation. He left an indelible mark on those who knew him; many recall how he made them feel like family. His commitment to serving the Del Norte and San Luis Valley communities were reflected in his consistent involvement on numerous boards and community groups, and his wisdom and presence will be sorely missed.
Before returning to the Valley in 1994, Cory spent the early part of his adulthood in Durango, Colorado, where he developed his business, "Cory Off Construction", with his business partner, Dave Poer. Together, they built custom homes distinguished by their high quality, artistic finish work, and cabinetry.
Cory cherished time spent with his wife and children, and found great joy in ranching with his brother Clint, woodworking, traveling, reading, and playing classical guitar. He was a voracious learner who deeply valued education - a passion he lovingly instilled in his children.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, honesty, integrity, compassion, and humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Cory is survived by his beloved wife, Tami; his son, Tyler (Brittany) Off; his daughter, Sarah (Dylan) Off-Fixmer; his granddaughter, Taylor Off; his brother, Clint (Katie) Off; and his sister, Natalie (Darren) Davies.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to Hospice del Valle.
