Robert Oliger Obituary

Robert Arthur Oliger, known affectionately as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on September 28, 1946, in Seymour, Indiana, Bob was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown.

Bob's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, his deep love for his family, and his dedication to his work. He shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Patricia Wayman Oliger, also of Seymour. Together, they raised a family that included their sons, Kevin Christopher Oliger (preceded in 2021), Brian (Miala) Oliger of Bloomington, and daughter, Deb (Ross Maschino) Hartsock of Bloomington. Bob was a cherished brother to his two sisters, Jane Owens of Seymour and Carolyn Taylor of Waynesburg, KY. His life was further enriched by the joy of his five grandchildren, Ava, Gabriel, Hannah, Jeremiah, and Jacob; and great grandchildren Jerika, Jace, Jayleigh, Jaylynn, and Jersey; and two step-grandchildren.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Professionally, Bob was a respected electrical technician who played a significant role in supervising the construction of cellular towers, a job that showcased his intelligence and meticulous nature. He later joined Aisin in Seymour, where he dedicated over ten years as a factory worker, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his work ethic and expertise.

Bob's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. It guided his actions and provided comfort and strength through all of life's trials and triumphs. He was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, He lived his faith through his actions, always putting others before himself, and was a true caregiver to his wife and children.

His love for nature and animals was evident to all who knew him. Bob found solace in the great outdoors, and his gentle, caring spirit was reflected in the way he interacted with all living creatures. He was a man who could be counted on to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, and his legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Bob Oliger was the embodiment of a loving, intelligent, and faith-filled man. His departure leaves a void in the community of Seymour and in the lives of his family and friends.
