Robert John Ortiz, a devoted family man and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in
Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 49. Born on October 20, 1976, in
Brooklyn, New York, Robert lived a life marked by service, love, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
Robert's journey began in the vibrant neighborhoods of Brooklyn, where he grew up with a strong sense of community and family values. His path led him to serve honorably in the United States Navy as a Fire Controlman, earning the rank of Second Class Petty Officer. In this role, he demonstrated bravery, precision, and dedication, embodying the spirit of service that defined his life.
Following his military service, Robert continued to support the nation as a government contractor, working as a Surveillance Radar Controlman with the United States Navy. His expertise and steadfast work ethic earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of his professional life, Robert's greatest passion was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, always prioritizing their well-being and happiness. His nurturing spirit and loving nature were evident in the way he cared for those closest to him, creating a legacy of kindness and strength that will be remembered for generations.
Robert is survived by his mother, Judith Rotondo; his father, William Ortiz Sr.; his sisters, Shamika Martir, Kelly Ortiz, and Kimberly Ortiz; and his brothers, William Ortiz Jr. and Kristopher Ortiz. Their love and memories continue to celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to those around him.
