Robert Van Outlar Sr. Born April 17th, 1963, in White Plains, NY. He was a reservoir of information, knowledge, and wisdom, who's vibrant spirit touched so many. It was with profound sadness that God called him home on April 8th, 2025.
Robert Van Outlar Sr., affectionately known as "Naim", passed away on April 8, 2025, in Albany, New York, at the age of 61. Born on April 17, 1963, in White Plains, New York, Robert lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and a deep love for his family and passions.
Robert Built a distinguished career in culinary arts. His love for cooking led him to become an Executive Chef, where he honed his craft and shared his talents with others. His journey in food service continued as he rose to the role of Director of Food Service, demonstrating leadership and commitment throughout his professional life.
Beyond his career, Robert was a man of many interests. He found joy and peace in fishing and painting-activities that reflected both his patience and artistic spirit. As a DJ and avid reader, he embraced music and knowledge with equal enthusiasm.
Those who knew him often remarked on how knowledgeable he was across a wide range of topics.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kim Knox; his sons, Robert Van Outlar Jr., Naim Outlar, and his brothers, Michael Outlar, Lamont Outlar, and Kevin K. Outlar; and his sister Gwendolyn Outlar Davis.
He was preceded in death by his father David N. Outlar, Mother Jane H. Outlar, and brother David B. Outlar.
A memorial service to honor Robert's life will be held on May 3, 2025, at New Comer Cremations and Funerals located at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, New York 12205. The service will begin at 12:00 PM and conclude at 1:30 PM.
May Robert's memory bring comfort to those who knew them and continue to inspire all who were touched by their presence.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. This service will be Livestreamed, and the link to view the service will be available by Saturday, May 3rd.
